Past Performance Highlights
BCMG NEXT CONCERTS
The BCMG NEXT programme offered a unique training programme for music students and professional musicians looking for a career as performers of contemporary music. As part of this, talented early career musicians performed throughout the year along with professional BCMG Musicians. During the period that I played with the Next Ensemble our repertoire included:
Elliot Carter Triple Duo / String Trio / Tre Duetti / Mnemosyné for solo violin / Canon for 4 / Con Leggerezza
George Lewis Hexis for sextet / Artificial Life
Benjamin Graves Étude
Rebecca Saunders The Under-side of Green
Tristan Murail The Bronze Age / Treize Couleurs du Soleil Couchant
Nicolas Tzortzis What the Wave Meant
Enno Poppe Gelöschte Lieder
Gérard Grisey Périodes
Dai Fujikura Halcyon / Scion Stems
Gerard Pesson Récréations Françaises
VIOLIN & ELECTRONICS
Improvisation has been a big part of my performance career. Collaborating with other musicians and electronics brings out the best of my musicianship and I’ve always enjoyed it.
Here are some highlights of some concerts. Photos from a collaboration with Tom Pountney-Barnes.
Below is a video where I experimented with a freeze pedal. I used it to emphasise the harmonic pillars in Bach’s solo violin music.
I also collaborated with Thomas Vaughan using a similar set up for his animation project.
SOLO RECITAL
September 2023
For this recital I performed all female composers. It was a great experience delving into these composers works. They provided new ways of communication and exploring the violin. I performed the following pieces:
Ellen Taaffe Zwilich Violin Concerto
Grażyna Bacewicz IV Sonata for violin and piano
Lili Boulanger Violin Sonata
JAZZ CONCERTS
Throughout my time at college I have always made an effort to collaborate with musicians from different departments and genres. It was incredible working with Lucy Mellenfield and Lucy-Anne Daniels, two very talents jazz singers. The collaboration and beauty that they brought to these concerts was unforgettable.

As far as family concerts go, this was up there with the top. The Albert Orchestra are made of professional freelance musicians. This was a lot of fun.
